Covet (Crave #3)

Tracy Wolff

I may have reached my breaking point. As if trying to graduate from a school for supernaturals isn’t stressful enough, my relationship status has gone from complicated to a straight-up dumpster fire.

Oh, and the Bloodletter has decided to drop a bomb of epic proportions on us all…

Then again, when has anything at Katmere Academy not been intense?

And the hits just keep coming. Jaxon’s turned colder than an Alaskan winter. The Circle is splintered over my upcoming coronation. As if things couldn’t get worse, now there’s an arrest warrant for Hudson’s and my supposed crimes—which apparently means a lifetime prison sentence with a deadly unbreakable curse.

Choices will have to be made…and I fear not everyone will survive.

The Crave series is best enjoyed in order.

My Opinion

4 out of 5 stars (4 / 5) What a ride! Today is my stop for the blog tour and I couldn’t be more excited. The Crave series is one of those series that is easy to keep coming back for more. It’s full of drama, romance and so much adventure!

Oh the drama! I don’t remember high school being this dramatic but apparently Katmere Academy is. When all sorts of paranormal creature attend school together, there are bound to be problems. Throw in their abilities and chaos can definitely ensue!

I love that while we get school-life, there is always an adventure in the works, a huge trial that they have to fit in-between studying for tests and getting papers turned in. It’s exactly how I picture it to really be.

Grace is a character that I’m liking more and more throughout the series. She is coming into her own and becoming the strong, confident heroine that I love in a main character. Book 3 has definitely solidified my #teamhudson love also. While I really liked Jaxon, Hudson seems to bring out the best in Grace and I love that.

There were quite a few bombshells that Wolff dropped in this book and it’s amazing how “normal” she makes it all sound. She makes this highly fantastical world into a place that makes total sense to me. Even if there are love triangles, evil villains and more. The chapters are short, they are oddly easy to quickly read and I found myself losing track of time multiple times while reading.

I have a few favorite things I want to tell you about Covet;

  1. The chapter titles. Titles such as “Who Needs Enchiladas When You Can Have the Whole Chimichanga?, Wednesday, Bloody Wednesday, Antisocial Influencer and more. Whether it’s a play on words of a song or something else, I always seem to chuckle at the ingenuity.
  2. The pop culture references. While Grace and Katmere Academy are in a modern world, they are very much a part of the paranormal world. Such references as her One Direction t-shirt, Spotify, cherry Pop-Tarts, YouTube and selfies brings Grace and this world into a place where we can easily connect.
  3. Wolff’s humor. The characters are sarcastic, there is great banter and Wolff throws in enough random jokes to give you little snort laughs along the way.

Content summary: The language is high with over 100 F words plus more. The intimacy is getting more detailed and more intimate. While the relationships have always been quite lustful, there is one scene in particular that has quite a few details but no actual sex. It could definitely be too much for some readers. The violence is there but it’s not excessive enough to earn the highest rating. Many violent events happen but details about blood and more are not very extensive.

Thank you to Tracy Wolff, Entangled Teen and Turn the Page Tours for the opportunity to be a part of this!

Three people go into a torture chamber. It makes them relive their worst moments and biggest sins over and over. When they get out, they are shaking, screaming with no sound and traumatized. This happens many times.

A forest is on fire.

Panic attacks are frequent throughout the book.

  1. I keep seeing this and I always wonder if it’s the new Twilight. I’ve seen people compare them. Do you feel that they are similar?
