The knowledge that yielding to Maeve will doom those she loves keeps her from breaking, but her resolve is unraveling with each passing day…

With Aelin captured, friends and allies are scattered to different fates. Some bonds will grow even deeper, while others will be severed forever. As destinies weave together at last, all must fight if Erilea is to have any hope of salvation.

My Opinion

5 out of 5 stars (5 / 5) Really, it is sad this series is over! I still hold this as her best series. Maas’ writing easily grabs me and pulls me in. Once again, she is the master at character development and making each character stand out.

This book has a lot of battle scenes and the turmoil. Once again, we see people coming together, relationships standing out and people giving their all for what they believe in. Well done!

The intimacy was somewhat lower on the scale than some previous (books 5 and 7 being the highest) but battle scenes and gore were higher.

General content summary: some language, captivity, torture (multiple), references to intimacy (multiple), pregnancy, physical violence (multiple), suicide, blood (multiple),  battle and blood and death (multiple), some gore, closed door intimacy (2x), some detailed intimacy (2x), menstruation, blood oath, murder (some details), battle and blood and beheadings.
