My Opinion

4 out of 5 stars (4 / 5) I listened to The Family Game recently and completely loved it! I decided to look into Steadman’s other books and grabbed this. While it wasn’t quite as polished as The Family Game, I was thoroughly entertained.

Erin and Mark on their honeymoon in Bora Bora (the stuff dreams are made of!) find something in the water. This could completely change their lives, if they can keep it with no strings attached.

I felt unsettled while reading this! It wasn’t necessarily “creepy” but it had an eerie vibe to it. I had to double check the house locks and kids while sleeping. I loved this! I don’t need to have the tar scared out of me, but I want the eerie feeling. Somehow she accomplished that so I ate this up.

It was fast moving and kept my attention the entire time. The end was a fabulous twist. I would’ve liked a bit more information to back up this twist and maybe some more hints along the way, but I didn’t focus on that and just enjoyed the ride.
