My Opinion

(4.5 / 5) Paris is found bloody with a murder weapon next to her dead husband. Who wouldn’t think she did it? But her main concern is that her past will catch up to her and someone will recognize her connected to a previous murder.

This was another Book of the Month that I loved! I rarely even order a book, but June had two thrillers that were getting high ratings. I couldn’t help myself! I was pleasantly surprised by both books. Check out my review of The Lies I Tell here.

There were two separate stories that intertwined about half way in. I didn’t even notice that I wasn’t connecting the two until it became painfully obvious and I was already glued. It was so well done. I felt like I knew the characters well and could feel the turmoil playing out. It was well thought out and kept me on my toes.

We get both timelines, and insight into each murder and backstory. There were layers upon layers of story and it was hard to put down. Not only was the story layered but the characters were too. They were relatable and Hillier did a great job making me feel empathy. It definitely kept me guessing with all those twists!

AUDIO REVIEW: Truly the narrator had the voice that perfectly matches Paris. The inflection and cadence were spot on and she made it so fun to listen to. Her storytelling was a great addition to the book!
