Queen of Shadows (Throne of Glass #4)

Sarah J. Maas

YA Fantasy

Everyone Celaena Sardothien loves has been taken from her. But she’s at last returned to the empire—for vengeance, to rescue her once-glorious kingdom, and to confront the shadows of her past…

She has embraced her identity as Aelin Galathynius, Queen of Terrasen. But before she can reclaim her throne, she must fight.

She will fight for her cousin, a warrior prepared to die for her. She will fight for her friend, a young man trapped in an unspeakable prison. And she will fight for her people, enslaved to a brutal king and awaiting their lost queen’s triumphant return.

The fourth volume in the New York Times bestselling series continues Celaena’s epic journey and builds to a passionate, agonizing crescendo that might just shatter her world.

My Opinion

4.5 out of 5 stars (4.5 / 5) Book 4! Look at me moving along! At this point, it’s difficult to not give anything away. This book is right in the middle of the series and so much is happening.

In this one, Aelin embraces being queen and fights fiercely for her friends and the good of people. It’s full of action, battle scenes, amazing friendships, demons, budding romance and so much more. I can honestly say that a reread of this series will happen at least every few years. The intricacies of the story always surprise me. The world is immersive and engaging while the characters are charming and endearing.

My only question is how does Dorian have magic when there’s the magic triangle blocking magic??

On to book 5!
