My Opinion

{usr 4} The fact that this is a “military fantasy” piqued my interest. Before starting my blog, one of the genre’s I read most was military thrillers. There is something so exciting about reading about people fighting for themselves but fighting for others also. Throw in some dragons and I knew I’d love it!

There were definitely not enough dragons in this book. I really hope that is rectified in book 2. It is fast-paced, which I love and the character development is amazing. I could imagine this world and the magic easily so that attends to the great writing.

This was definitely a “bookstagram made me do it” purchase and I’m not sad about it. I’m curious to continue the series and see where the story goes!

Audio: I listened to this on Audible and the narrator has a very matter-of-fact tone of voice. This made the exciting scenes even more exciting, however, the intense moments between characters needed a bit more fluctuation in voice. Overall, his voice was fantastic for the genre.

Content Summary: Minimal language, lots of violence with details of blood and death. There is one sex scene with details.
